Description:
Weekly lunch meeting at the Country Club of York. Program - Master Watershed Program by Jodi Sulpizio.

Jodi Sulpizio was recently hired as the Natural Resources Educator/Gypsy Moth Program Coordinator for Penn State Extension in York County. She began working for Extension part-time in 2015 and successfully launched and coordinated the Master Watershed Steward Program in the county. After coordinating two Master Watershed Steward Trainings, she and 36 Master Watershed Stewards are educating citizens about water resources and have planned and completed several successful watershed projects throughout the York area.

Her presentation to Rotary is titled “Stormwater – The Issue and Solutions for Your Home.” It is important to understand that land use impacts the water quality of streams, rivers, ponds and lakes. Stormwater is precipitation that flows across the land, often carrying pollutants to our waterways. It is the fastest growing form of pollution affecting the Chesapeake Bay today. Poorly managed stormwater runoff can cause a host of problems and in fact, it is everyone’s problem. Many management practices exist and are easy to implement at home.
