Weekly club meeting - Hybrid format will continue
Annual Veterans Day Program
Veterans Day was first called Armistice Day to commemorate the ending of World War I. It was first proclaimed by President Woodrow Wilson on November 11th 1919. In 1954 the United States designated November 11th as Veterans Day to honor all veterans of US wars. Our speaker will be Rear Admiral Marianne "Mimi" Drew, United States Navy (Ret.) who served for 38 years working in an operational military environment and was consistently broke through "glass ceilings" as the first woman to serve in variety of assignments, including five in command. Mimi has titled her talk "As we celebrate this Veterans Day... What kind of example are we setting to prepare the next generation for service?". Mimi will be joined by her husband Brigadier General Phil Drew, USAF (Ret,) and her daughter, Captain Cambell Kraemer, US Air Force Reserves.
VETERANS - We ask all members who have served to wear any portion of their uniform and we will ask each of you to gather for our traditional call of each branch to parade once again into the ballroom and allow our members to thank you for your dedication and service to our country.
