Our speaker will be Scott Wagner, the Republican candidate for Pennsylvania Governor. Wagner's first venture toward public office came in March 2014. Wagner had a stunning write-in victory to win a state senate seat, the first time a write-in candidate for the state's legislature had won in Pennsylvania's election history. Scott served in the state senate for four years, serving on several key committees and is known for his strategies to increase the number of Republican Senators for the state as chair of Senate Republican Campaign Committee. Following Wagner's primary victory for Governor, he resigned his senate seat in June 2018 to focus on his bid for Governor this fall. Scott is a York county native and owner of several businesses including Penn Waste. He graduated from Dallastown Area High School. He now lives in Spring Garden Township. Wagner will be vying for the Governor against several other candidates including Democrat and fellow York Countian Gov. Tom Wolf.
