Dr. Pamela Gunter-Smith, the fourth president of York College of Pennsylvania, concludes her decade of service on June 30th. A frequent guest and speaker at Rotary over the ten years of her presidency, Dr. "GS" is with us for a final time, reflecting on the change and growth at York College that she has been instrumental in leading.
Dr. Pamela Gunter-Smith, the fourth president of York College of Pennsylvania, concludes her decade of service on June 30th. A frequent guest and speaker at Rotary over the ten years of her presidency, Dr. "GS" is with us for a final time, reflecting on the change and growth at York College that she has been instrumental in leading.
Her tenure, marked by visionary growth of programs and infrastructure at the college include establishing the five "schools" model, each with their own dean, deepening the college's connection to and relationship with the York community, and a remarkably successful weathering of the pandemic, thanks in great part to her own deep knowledge of the issues as a scientist.
Pamela is married to Rotarian J.L. Smith, who has been an active and contributing member of our club during their time in York. We welcome Dr. GS once again to the Rotary Club of York.
