LOCATION:
HYBRID MEETING - Country Club of York & Virtual Meeting on Zoom
PROGRAM-
Dr. Pamela Gunter-Smith - Dr. Pamela Gunter-Smith, the fourth president of York College of Pennsylvania, will conclude her decade of service on June 30th. A frequent guest and speaker at Rotary over the ten years of her presidency, Dr. "GS" will be with us for a final time, reflecting on the change and growth at York College that she was instrumental in leading. Her tenure has been marked with visionary growth of programs and infrastructure at the college, the establishment of the five "schools" model, each with their own dean, a deepening of the college's connection to and relationship with the York community, and a remarkably successful weathering of the pandemic, thanks in great part to her own deep knowledge of the issues as a scientist. Pamela is married to Rotarian J.L. Smith, who has been an active and contributing member of our club during their time in York. We look forward to welcoming Dr. GS once again to the Rotary Club of York.

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY JUNE 17TH
The Youth Development Committee is supporting The Advantage Program, a not-for-profit youth mentorship program in York geared to expose middle and high school aged children to life’s opportunities. Once per month, the Advantage Program aims to expose participating youth to an event or venue outside of York County. In June, the Youth Development Committee is supporting this goal by sponsoring a Saturday, June 17th trip to a ropes course at Terrapin Adventuresin Savage, Maryland for 40 youth from The Advantage Program.
The committee is seeking Rotarians to volunteer as chaperones for this event. Lunch will be provided for all. Rotarians do not have to engage in the ropes course to attend. Volunteer Rotarians may carpool to Terrapin Adventures, or you may travel on your own.
To volunteer and/or for more information, please contact Ashlee Etzweiler at adoll0215@msn.com.
