LOCATION:
HYBRID MEETING -
Country Club of York & Virtual Meeting on Zoom

PROGRAM-
Economics of Solar Energy - Renewable energy is the world’s fastest growing energy source, with solar energy representing America’s fastest-growing power source, accounting for more than 40% of all new electricity generating capacity. Analysts have projected that total US solar capacity will quadruple over the next 10 years. The drastic improvement in performance is constantly evolving, and with the rise of energy storage technologies, it will become an even more viable solution. Jason Raybin, a US Navy Submarine Veteran, has worked with power systems for 16 of the last 20 years. He is currently enrolled full time at Drexel University’s Accelerated MBA program, where he is concentrating on Strategic Technology & Innovation Management, as well as Corporate Sustainability and Social Impact. Jason will share the basics of how solar power works - where it started, where it is now, and where it’s headed.

GIVE LOCAL YORK THIS YEAR ON MAY 4TH AND 5TH!

This year for Give Local York, we are partnering with our own Rotary Club of York’s CEF Grants Committee, with a goal to raise $20,000 during Give Local York.  Reaching this goal will DOUBLE the funding made available for our York Rotary Grants program this year.  The York Rotary Charitable Endowment Fund has already set aside $20,000 to make community grants available in early summer.  Your gift to Rotary Club of York’s Give Local York campaign will add to this pool of funds and directly impact current needs within our York community this year.

York Rotary Grants address the changing needs of York through grants focused on improving our local community. This year’s grant fields of interest align with Rotary International’s focus areas of Economic Development (Growing Local Economies) and Peace (Promoting Peace & Social Justice, and specifically, Gun Violence Prevention).  Grants of $2,500-$10,000 will be awarded in June, 2023 to deserving local organizations working to address these issues right here in York.

Your gift through Give Local York on May 4th & 5th will help DOUBLE the impact our club will have in addressing these important issues and immediately go to help those in need.

Please help us DOUBLE OUR IMPACT - you can make your gift two ways:
