SERVICE ABOVE SELF AWARD NOMINATIONS
Do you know someone who should be honored with a Service Above Self Award? Rotarians are encouraged to nominate an extraordinary individual who meets the qualifying criteria:
Made an impact on the York Community
Gone above and beyond what is expected of him/her
Performed an act of heroism
Not received recognition for his/her actions
AND:
Is NOT in an occupation in which such actions are part
of the job description
Could be a role-model for others
Since this description fits most Rotarians, we are strongly inclined to seek NON-Rotarian nominees, with rare exceptions.
The award is named in honor of the late Charles S. Wolf, a Past-District Governor, who exemplified the qualities of the Service Above Self Award. Honorees will attend a Rotary Club of York meeting where they will receive a glass trophy engraved with their name. Additionally, the award includes a check for $150 made out to the non-profit organization of the recipient's choice.
On Tuesday, January 17th, Rotarians are invited to a Luncheon/Tour of BioTechnique LLC beginning at 12:00pm. The facility is located at 250 Cross Farm Lane, York. Registration for this event is full, however there is a wait list.
Join the Fellowship Committee for Happy Hour on Thursday, January 26th. Rotarians are invited to Gearhouse Brewing Co /Archetype Pizza, located at 33 W. Market St, from 5:00pm-7:00pm.
Dutch Treat.
On Thursday, February 2nd, President Glenn Miller will be celebrity bartending at Aviano's Corner Trattoria, located on 101 S. Duke Street, York. Join President Glenn from 6:00pm-8:00pm as he looks to donate all tips to a good cause. Aviano's will also graciously donate half of each signature drink.
