LOCATION: HYBRID MEETING - Country Club of York and Virtual Meeting on zoom.com
PROGRAM: In 2019, the York County SPCA experienced an internal earthquake. They hired a new Executive Director who brought with him a new leadership team and strategic vision for the organization. The new leadership team grew the organization’s “save rate” by over 24 percentage points in only a year-and-a-half. A remarkable accomplishment, especially given that most of their transformation occurred during the middle of a global pandemic. Some people will say the pandemic must be the reason for this accomplishment, but the truth is that a very wise strategic initiative they called their “Best Practices Transformation”, coupled with lots of hard work, is what truly enabled their progress.
Joining us for the June 9th Rotary Meeting is Steven Martinez, the new Executive Director of the York County SPCA. Mr. Martinez is
scheduled to present the program in person at the CCY and will share how he led his team in developing a cohesive strategic vision that resulted in dramatic progress for our local animal welfare shelter. During his talk, Mr. Martinez will reflect on:
Creating the Best Practices Transformation, which is designed around four major pillars of change
Managing significant culture shifts while maintaining positive employee morale
How getting a handle on your company’s data helps leaders move mountains
Why a pandemic is the perfect time to blow things up and try something new
The power of trust, transparency, and storytelling
