GIVE LOCAL YORK THIS YEAR ON MAY 4TH AND 5TH!

This year for Give Local York, we are partnering with our own Rotary Club of York’s CEF Grants Committee, with a goal to raise $20,000 during Give Local York. Reaching this goal will DOUBLE the funding made available for our York Rotary Grants program this year. The York Rotary Charitable Endowment Fund has already set aside $20,000 to make community grants available in early summer. Your gift to Rotary Club of York’s Give Local York campaign will add to this pool of funds and directly impact current needs within our York community this year.

York Rotary Grants address the changing needs of York through grants focused on improving our local community. This year’s grant fields of interest align with Rotary International’s focus areas of Economic Development (Growing Local Economies) and Peace (Promoting Peace & Social Justice, and specifically, Gun Violence Prevention). Grants of $2,500-$10,000 will be awarded in June, 2023 to deserving local organizations working to address these issues right here in York.

Your gift through Give Local York on May 4th & 5th will help DOUBLE the impact our club will have in addressing these important issues and immediately go to help those in need.

Please help us DOUBLE OUR IMPACT - you can make your gift two ways:

SAVE THE DATE! SEMI-ANNUAL TREE PLANTING – SAT., APRIL 22 @ 8:00 am

The semi-annual tree planting will take place on Saturday, April 22, at 8:00 a.m. Volunteers should meet at the parking lot at E. Philadelphia St. & Broad St. There will be 20 trees to plant. After planting the trees, which should take approximately one hour, those who are willing to stay should proceed to the WELCOME TO YORK fountain/garden, where volunteers are needed to cut back the hydrangea and liriope; remove dead leaves from around the day lilies; weed; and prune and fertilize roses. Please bring a hedge trimmer (manual), pruning clippers, grass trimmers, or a lawn rake if you plan to help at the welcome garden. The garden will not need mulching at this time. Please contact Al Sykes at (717) 880-1261 or awsykes@gmail.com to let him know if you can help.

REMINDER! 2023 ROTARY GRANTS LETTERS OF INTEREST - DUE APRIL 10

York Rotary Grants provide valuable funding support to address the changing needs of York through grant programs focused on improving our local community. Grants of $2,500-$10,000 will be awarded in 2023 that align local fields of interest with Rotary International’s focus to take action on our world’s most persistent issues. The fields of interest for 2023 are Economic Development (Growing Local Economies) and
Peace (Promoting Peace & Social Justice, and Gun Violence Prevention). Those wishing to apply for
a grant must submit a Letter of Interest by April 10. Grant guidelines and an online application may be
found here. High-scoring proposals will be invited to complete a full application for funding consideration.
The Rotary grant will cover up to 1/2 of the total project cost.
