PROGRAM:  Murphy & Dittenhafer Architects is celebrating 35 years of designing inspiring places in 2020. York Architect Frank Dittenhafer II, President and Co-founder of M&D will provide a “visual presentation” about his firm’s recent design work over the past five years on a diverse array of assignments – and a commentary on current trends including his Architectural forecast for the future. Frank is frequently asked “What Exciting Projects are you working on?” and “How has the COVID-19 situation affected the Design and Construction industry?” Frank will answer these questions – and others. Murphy & Dittenhafer is an award winning twenty-five person  Architectural/Interiors/Planning firm with offices at 226 West Market Street in York, PA and 805 North Charles Street in Baltimore, MD. His firm’s work ranges from designing the award-winning CODO and George Street Loft residential/mixed-use projects in downtown York, to a weekend residence in southeastern York County for a world famous NYC artist – to an inspiring homeless shelter in the Sandtown -Winchester neighborhood in Baltimore – to current designs for the dynamic transformation of the Northwest Triangle in York City.

Thank you to everyone who donated to the Literacy Committee's BOOK DRIVE.  We raised $2500 for the YMCA Early Learning Center & Wallace Street Pre-School & Day Care to purchase books for their libraries.  Your support is greatly appreciated.

THANK YOU to Linda Spotts who is retiring as Rotary District 7390 Youth Exchange Chair after 14 years.  The York club has been very active in the YE program and Rotarians Tom Barton,
Walt Tilley and Jerry Watson have looked to Linda through the years for her knowledge and leadership to make the program a success!  Thank you, Linda, for your dedication and service to Rotary District 7390’s Youth Exchange Program.

How does fresh air, human contact, community service, exercise and fellowship with other Rotarians sound? 
  And a Makeup Credit???  Then, put on your calendar (8am–10am) to help the PPE committee remove debris from storm drains in the City of York.  Due to budget cuts, the City of York is currently unable to clean debris from storm drains. Mayor Helfrich has asked for volunteers, and Rotary’s Preserve Planet Earth (PPE) committee has volunteered 20 Rotarians to help…..that includes YOU!  Please email Jen May at jgm14@psu.edu if you can help. Those who can help will be sent an email with details of meeting place, items needed, etc. Hope to see you on the 3rd!

Monday, June 29 - ROTARY MEANS BUSINESS 5:30-7pm virtual zoom meeting.  The featured speaker will be Gordon Denlinger, Director of the National Federation of Independent Businesses and former state representative, who will be speaking about the business situation in Southcentral PA and prospects for the future in the time of COVID-19.  This will be followed by a virtual Circle wherein participants will have a chance to talk about their businesses and how they have been affected by COVID-19 and what they have done to survive.
