Building a Strong Community through Capital Investment in Non-profits - York has a proud tradition
of business leaders working collaboratively to build a strong non-profit community. While the landscape has changed as businesses have evolved, the tradition continues. Four speakers will discuss how different stakeholders work together: Michael Hady - The changing landscape of philanthropic leadership, Larry Richardson - How non-profits thrive over decades, Dani Beam - Assessing non-profits' readiness for a
capital campaign, and Dave Meckley - The evolution of the York Area Capital Campaign Group.
Dani Beam is the owner of Beam Consulting, a boutique consulting firm located in Central Pennsylvania that offers fundraising, marketing and communications, and strategic planning services. Michael Hady is the first President and CEO of Powder Mill Foundation and has a long history of commitment to the York non-profit community. Dave Meckley is President of Strategic Advantage, Inc. Dave is the Chairman of the York Area Capital Campaign Group and a Warehime Foundation Board member. Larry is the current President and CEO
of the YMCA of the Roses and President of Y Community Development Corporation, the YMCA's community development arm.

SUPPORT NEEDED FOR GLOBAL PROJECT TO BUILD BATHROOMS IN SENDAFA, ETHIOPIA
The Global Projects Committee is undertaking a project to improve sanitation and the environment in Sendafa, Ethiopia by building 16 toilets serving 6,000+ people. They have partnered with an Ethiopian Rotary Club and an Ethiopian physician to undertake this project. The toilets will be built with plastic bottles filled with mud/cement. Locals will be hired to build and maintain the bathrooms.
The goal is to raise $70,000 for this project, with funds expected from a District Global Grant, a grant from The Rotary Foundation and an appeal to other clubs in our District. 100% of Global Projects Committee members have pledged gifts to the project! These members of the Rotary Club of York ask you to join them in supporting this worthy project. Your gift is needed! Every dollar you donate GENERATES $2.80 for the project! Here’s how:
$1 for $1 match from Rotarians up to $6,000
$1 for $1 match from District 7390
$.80 for $1 match from Rotary Foundation (Thanks to your donations to the Rotary Foundation!)

MEET OUR NEW TEAM MEMBER - HEATHER BARNHART
Heather is the Administrative Coordinator for Rotary Club of York. She grew up in Hershey and attended Dickinson College, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa with
a BA in Policy & Management Studies and Spanish. She has served as a program manager and event planner for several non-profit statewide associations and spent several years working in public policy in the state House of Representatives. She is
an avid distance runner and completed her first marathon in San Francisco in 2008,
as well as five half marathons and many local, shorter distance races. She enjoys international travel and has visited 14 countries, with Italy being her favorite. She
