PROGRAM:   
This week, we were to be traveling to PeoplesBank Park to hear about the Rev's 2020 season.  Instead our virtual program will feature York Revolution President Eric Menzer and Atlantic League President Rick White with a version of our annual program.  Rick will talk about the challenges facing the Atlantic League and all sports organizations from the coronavirus pandemic. He will also update us on the efforts to change the alignment of minor league baseball as a whole, and what opportunities and challenges that might present for the Atlantic League.  Eric will give us an update on the Rev’s response to COVID-19 here in York, and the outlook for this summer.  BYOD (bring your own (hot)dog to your computer) with mustard!

How can I access videos of past programs? 
1. Visit www.yorkrotary.org.  On the home page, in the bottom left corner you will see the Facebook logo and YouTube logos.  Click on the preferred icon and it should redirect you to the club’s page where past programs may be viewed.  Bonus:  While you are on www.yorkrotary.org, your member profile can be viewed and updated with current information!

2. Search directly on facebook.com or youtube.com for “Rotary Club of York”.   
 
Most programs are available on one website or the other.  More recent programs held at the Country Club of York were live streamed as a video on the Facebook page for “Rotary Club of York”.  All “virtual” programs since 3/25/2020 are on YouTube.  If a program is not available, the speaker denied permission to be videotaped.

The Rotary Club of York office is CLOSED due to the COVID-19 pandemic until further notice. Bert and Renea have been working out of their homes since 3/19/2020.  They have access to emails and will attempt to respond in a timely manner during business hours.  If you require immediate assistance, pleascontact Bert (717-542-6449) or President Josh (jgeorge@snydersecary.com or 717-814-0950).  
 
With regret, we announce PDG David Witmer passed away on May 7.  David was DG 1995-1996 and a member of the West Shore Rotary Club.  Our deepest sympathy to his wife, Caroline and the entire family. 
 
The RCY Board of Directors approved the NEW MEMBER application of Mark Wheeler (Chief Operating Officer; The York Water Company) proposed by J.T. Hand for membership.  If no objections are received, he will be inducted into the club on May 20.    
 
The RCY Board of Directors accepted the RESIGNATIONS of Anne Bahn (Byrnes Health Education Center), Trent Davis (Servants International), Art Kahley and Matt Scarpato (York JCC), at their May meeting.  The Board also approved Art Kahley for Member Emeritus status.

HOST FAMILY NEEDED – David Gbogboade is in need of a home beginning May 18.  David is a former Youth Exchange student from Nigeria who is entering his senior year studying Mechanical Engineering at York College.  All of David’s summer classes are online so the host family does NOT need to be located near YCP.  For more information, please contact Rotarian Walt Tilley 717-891-6375 or wat@stockandleader.com.

THIS FRIDAY, MAY 15 Application deadline for “Non-Traditional Student” Scholarships. 
What is a Non-Traditional Student?  A Non-Traditional student is one who did not immediately attend college or a trade school after high school graduation andafter raising a family and/or serving in the armed forcesis now eager to earn an Associate or Bachelor’s degree.  Please spread the word that these scholarships are available to those in our community!
