LOCATION: OFFSITE at Keystone Kidspace, 10 East Hamilton Avenue, York
HYBRID MEETING - Meeting offsite & Virtual Meeting on zoom
PROGRAM: Today's featured speaker is Jessica Brubaker, co-founder and Executive Director of Keystone Kidspace - an exciting new nonprofit experiential learning space that opened in October. Based in the historic York Armory building in downtown York, Keystone Kidspace serves families from across York County and beyond. Their STEAM programs are tailored to students in elementary and middle school and are specifically designed to meet the needs of kids and families in our region. Their focus is on giving kids the opportunity to work with real tools and real materials, as well as permission to make a mess and even fail (essential parts of the creative process), ultimately building skills, resilience and creative confidence. It is their belief that by creating a place that teaches a wide variety of technical and creative skills, Keystone Kidspace will build on York’s legacy of making to encourage our kids to become the next generation of makers and doers.
Keystone Kidspace is committed to building a community of kids and families that is genuinely open and inclusive. The organization was founded on the core belief that a child’s access to high quality enrichment should not depend on the school they attend or what their parents do for a living. All kids deserve the opportunity to discover what lights them up and to find “their people” who share their interests and passions. Keystone Kidspace is working to provide that opportunity to all kids – a commitment that includes raising scholarship funds for families who might not be able to afford a membership on their own.
