HYBRID MEETING - Country Club of York & Virtual Meeting on Zoom
PROGRAM-
United Way of York County Issue Focused Transition - Recently United Way of York County announced the decision to transform its community impact to an issue-focused model, concentrating future efforts and allocations towards the issue of working households that struggle to cover basic living expenses. Approximately one in four York County households earn more than the federal poverty level but
do not earn enough to pay for basic needs. United Way of York County’s goal is to help bridge the gap for
thousands of financially struggling, working households through short-term support while also building pathways to self-sufficiency. The transition to the new issue-focused model will take place gradually
over the next three years. Join Amy Wannemacher, Interim President, and Jules Tolbert, Chair, Board
of Directors, as they share their new mission and vision for York County.

GLOBAL PROJECT TO BUILD BATHROOMS IN SENDAFA, ETHIOPIA
The Global Projects Committee is undertaking a project to improve sanitation and the environment in Sendafa, Ethiopia by building 16 toilets serving 6,000+ people. They have partnered with an Ethiopian Rotary Club and an Ethiopian physician to undertake this project. The toilets will be built with plastic bottles filled with mud/cement. Locals will be hired to build and maintain the bathrooms.
The goal is to raise $70,000 for this project, with funds expected from a District Global Grant,
a grant from The Rotary Foundation and an appeal to other clubs in our District.
