VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED FOR ROTARY READS EVENT - SEPTEMBER 30
We need your help to share an inspiring message about creativity with about 750 pre-kindergarten and early learning center students in York city!
Volunteers are needed from 9:30-11:30 am on Tuesday, September 30th to read a copy of "Arlo Draws an Octopus" to pre-kindergarten students at schools across York city and the surrounding area. The Youth Literacy Committee is organizing a city-wide volunteer opportunity for Rotarians to distribute copies of the book to several classrooms and schools in York. The project also provides us with an opportunity to promote our mission of improving literacy in our community, which is the keystone for success in life and leads to better job opportunities and personal achievement. This will be one of our Club's largest and most impactful service projects – and one you will not want to miss. Not sure what to expect in the classroom? Prior to the reading day, there will be some tips and information that will help prepare you for a great experience!
