LOCATION:
HYBRID MEETING - Country Club of York & Virtual Meeting on Zoom
PROGRAM-
York native and Former Executive Director of the 2026 United Bid Committee, John Kristick, will talk about his experience leading the successful joint bid of Canada, Mexico, and the United States to host the FIFA World Cup in 2026.
The three-country bid was the most extensive sports event bid ever produced, adhering to FIFA’s detailed bid requirements. Building upon his previous role as managing director of the US Bid for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, the role tapped John’s leadership skills by involving all facets of stakeholder management at the federal, regional and city government, stadium, and facility levels across the three countries.
Now President of Playfly Premier Partnerships, John continues to work closely with Host Cities ahead of the FIFA World Cup in 2026, providing ongoing operational and commercial strategy. He also works alongside the greater Playfly Sports leadership team to define and implement company strategy while managing the company’s key business relationships with leaders in the sports and entertainment industry.
