LOCATION:
HYBRID MEETING - Country Club of York & Virtual Meeting on Zoom
PROGRAM-
Emeco Industries - Begin with what's left over. Turn it into what will last. This is the story of Emeco. Started in 1944 in Hanover, PA, Emeco took salvaged aluminum and made high quality, long lasting chairs for the US Navy. A war-time necessity. Today it's scrap plastic, keeping it out of oceans and landfills and turning it into chairs that last. A planet necessity. By manufacturing in the US and sourcing as locally as possible, Emeco helps preserve skills and craftsmanship while supporting the local economy and reducing transport emissions. Chances are you have either sat in or have seen Emeco chairs on television or film. Greg Poska, VP of Operations at Emeco, will join us to discuss the history and impact Emeco has had and continues to have in the world today.

GIVE LOCAL THIS YEAR ON MAY 5TH
As you know, For Give Local York this year we are partnering with our own Rotary Club of York’s CEF Grants Committee, with a goal to raise $20,000 during Give Local York. Reaching this goal will DOUBLE the funding made available for our York Rotary Grants program this year. The York Rotary Charitable Endowment Fund has $20,000 to make community grants available in early summer. Your gift to Rotary Club of York’s Give Local York campaign will add to this pool of funds and directly impact current needs within our York community this year.
We invite YOU to take action, make a gift and help DOUBLE the funding made available for our York Rotary Grants program in early summer. We hope you will join this effort and give what you can!
Please help us DOUBLE OUR IMPACT - make a gift on May 5th at www.givelocalyork.org, Rotary Club of York.

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY JUNE 17TH
The Youth Development Committee is supporting The Advantage Program, a not-for-profit youth mentorship program in York geared to expose middle and high school aged children to life’s opportunities. Once per month, the Advantage Program aims to expose participating youth to an event or venue outside of York County. In June, the Youth Development Committee is supporting this goal by sponsoring a Saturday, June 17th trip to a ropes course at Terrapin Adventuresin Savage, Maryland for 40 youth from The Advantage Program.
The committee is seeking Rotarians to volunteer as chaperones for this event. Lunch will be provided for all. Rotarians do not have to engage in the ropes course to attend. Volunteer Rotarians may carpool to Terrapin Adventures, or you may travel on your own.
To volunteer and/or for more information, please contact Ashlee Etzweiler at adoll0215@msn.com.
