LOCATION:
HYBRID MEETING - Country Club of York & Virtual Meeting on Zoom
PROGRAM-
In 2021, businesses in the United States added nearly 4 million jobs. At the same time, the United States has 3 million fewer workers today than we did in February 2020 before the pandemic. Everywhere we see businesses advertising for workers. How can businesses recruit employees, and how do you retain employees who may think that the grass is greener with a competitor? We know Walt Tilley from his work with our Youth Exchange program, but next week he is going to come in his role as a partner at his law firm, Stock and Leader, to share a fresh approach on Responding to America’s Labor Shortage. Walt brings a heart-warming story, his unique brand of humor, and an innovative business strategy to his timely and important message.

Rotarians can sponsor a wreath in remembrance of our country’s fallen heroes who lie in peace at The Lebanon Cemetery, York, PA. The IDEA Committee will have a table prior to the November 2 and 9 meetings to collect donations for Remembrance wreaths. Wreaths are $15 each. Please make checks payable to Charitable Endowment Fund (CEF). Cash is also accepted. No credit cards. Please contact Jen May at jgm14@psu.edu with any questions.
YOUTH EXCHANGE HOST FAMILIES NEEDED
The Youth Exchange Committee is asking for your help in locating families who live in the York Suburban School District or the Dallastown School District and who may be willing to serve as a host family. Jeanne is our student from France who attends York Suburban. Julien is our student from Belgium who attends Dallastown. The host family may have students in high school, but that is not required. We need families who are willing to welcome Jeanne or Julien into their homes. Our most immediate need is to find host families for each of them who will take them the first weekend in December until the first weekend in March. We also need host families who can welcome them in March to stay until the end of the school year in June. If you know of anyone who may be willing to serve as a host family, please share that information with Walt Tilley or any Youth Exchange Committee member.
