PROGRAM: 
 
Glenn Tallia,  Chief Legal Counsel for Weather, Space Services and Research for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), will provide a brief overview of NOAA. From daily weather forecasts, severe storm warnings, and climate monitoring to fisheries management, coastal restoration and supporting marine and space commerce, NOAA’s products and services support economic vitality and affect more than one-third of America’s gross domestic product. In addition, Glenn's
presentation will explain the important role NOAA plays in supporting the growing U.S. space
industry and the developing and regulating of international space commerce
 
Note:  Due to current workloads,  Glenn Tallia's presentation will be virtual, BUT we will still have our
normal gathering at the Country Club of York.

The RCY Board of Directors approved the NEW MEMBER applications of Linda Gorter (Executive Director;
Big Brothers, Big Sisters of York and Adams Counties) proposed by Eric Chase; Steven Harlacher
(Controller; Graham Capital) proposed by Jim May; Andy Lynch (Partner; Vision Solutions AR) proposed
by Rebecca Hanlon; and Bruce Newell (CEO; MANTEC) proposed by PEN Aaron Jacobs. All are scheduled
for induction into the club on an upcoming Wednesday.

HORN FARM CENTER LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS SUNDAY, MARCH 13TH
The Horn Farm Center is in need of a few hardworking, brawny volunteers who enjoy heavy lifting on
Sunday, March 13th from 8am-noon. Interested volunteers, who are ready for a workout, should contact Rotarian and HFC Executive Director, Alexis Campbell, at executivedirector@hornfarmcenter.org.
                                  
 
FELLOWSHIP COMMITTEE TO HOST NETWORKING OPPORTUNITY 
Join the Fellowship Committee for a networking opportunity on Friday, March 18th from 12:00PM-
1:00PM at the York County Literacy Council. Attendees will enjoy lunch and a tour of the new facility at
1416 Sixth Avenue, York. Please RSVP to PP Rob Bowen at RBowen5245@hotmail.com. Donations will be accepted. 
 
 
SUPPORT OUR BCHALLENGE
The Literacy and Lend a Hand Committees and have come together to create the B3 Challenge (Books, Blankets and Bucks) and are asking for your support. During the month of March, your donations will
help to purchase books and blankets to be distributed and sent home to children in the York community.
 
A table will be set up at Rotary each Wednesday in March to collect your donation or pledge. Donations can
also be charged to your April 1st dues by e-mailing Lynne at lmorrison@yorkrotary.org or mailing your contribution to:

SUPPORT FOR UKRAINE RELIEF
Due to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, our CEF Board has approved a matching Disaster/
Emergency Relief grant for up to $5,000. Donations from Club members will be matched dollar for dollar. 
If you wish to contribute to this relief effort, please visit our website and make a donation
Indicate that your donation is for Ukraine in the comments field. Alternatively, you may send a
check to the office.
 
MARCH TO 300!
Please help us in our March to 300! Membership campaign. During the month of March, we are asking
our members to bring potential members as guests to our club meetings with the goal of achieving 300
Club members. This is part of the Presidential “Each One, Bring One” Campaign that encourages each
Rotarian to reach out to three prospective members in hopes of building our network of Rotarians. Who
are you inviting? Register your guest(s) with Becky!

PPE COMMITTEE LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS APRIL 9TH
PPE will be planting 23 trees in York City on Saturday, April 9th. Those interested in volunteering will meet
at 8:00AM in the parking lot of the corner of E. Philadelphia and Broad Street. Volunteers should bring
gloves, shovels or any other tool that would be helpful to plant trees. Please email
Al Sykes asykes@gmail.com to sign up as a volunteer.
 
 
  MEET THE NEW MEMBER - TRENT DAVIS
Member pictureTrent is returning to the Rotary Club of York, having been a member from
2016-2020. He is the CEO of Servants, a non-profit organization in Red Lion that
assists churches and individuals through acts of services. Trent received his Bachelor
of Science in Accounting from Penn State University. He served as president of the
York County Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster from 2018-2019; was on the Finance Committee for White Rose Leadership Institute from 2020-2021; and was a
2019 Board Member of Reframe Association. Trent lives in Marietta.
