PROGRAM: Deron Shultz, Pharmacist and VP of Minnich’s Pharmacy in York will discuss the current and soon to be available Covid-19 vaccines, how they were developed/who they work to insure immunity. Deron will discuss the recommended scheduling of the vaccine since both available vaccines require 2 doses and what the current levels of who can and should be vaccinated and most importantly when. The current state of vaccine availability and how one can find and get a vaccine will be discussed. He will debunk rumors and myths associated with this vaccine. Finally, Deron will the cover common side effects and effectiveness of these vaccines. The virtual program will be presented live on zoom.

2021-2022 Rotary International Announces Presidential Theme
Incoming RI President Shekhar Mehta urged members to become more involved in service projects, saying that caring for and serving others is the best way to live because it changes not only other people’s lives, but also our own. A member of the Rotary Club of Calcutta-Mahanagar, West Bengal, India, Mehta revealed the 2021-22 presidential theme, Serve to Change Lives, to incoming district governors on 1 February during the virtual Rotary International Assembly.
MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE NEWS- The RCY Board of Directors has approved, and our club is now offering, a Hybrid Membership. This membership has been successfully introduced in other service clubs. It expands growth in our service to community and removes barriers to membership increasingly told to us by professionals who are unable to commit fully as an active member but want to participate in Rotary.
• NEW MEMBERS only with virtual focus
• Commit to 50% attendance and committee service
• Pay $300 application fee, reduced quarterly dues (no meals), attend new member orientation, join a committee, engage with the Club.
• After 6 months of membership with mentor & monitoring, may change to Active (full) membership if they choose to.
