You have been heard! Our Membership Engagement survey from September had a whopping 92% of respondents say that they wanted more community project/volunteer opportunities..........Well, here is the first chance for you to put yourself in the middle of the action with a partner that does a ton to help out with a major problem in our area....hunger. A good percentage of the people in our area are food insecure, and a ton of them are children. As people of action, I am optimistic that our club will make a tremendous showing. A few things to know: 1) you will need flat, closed toe shoes, 2) wear any Rotary gear that you have, especially the snappy new stuff that just arrived last month, 3) this is during work hours, which, astonishingly, the majority of you said was the best time for you to take part in volunteer opportunities. There is room for up to 40 people, and this will be filled on a first come, first served basis. We are not the only group that will be filling those spots, so let's jump on this early to make a strong showing!

Weekly Club Meeting to be held in-person and on Zoom.
Our speaker will be Jen Heasley, the founder of Sweet Mama's Mambo Sauce and Sweet Mama's catering company/stand in York's Central Market. In 2016, Jen retired from her 25 years of education in the York City School District to pursue her passion of cooking and entertaining. While growing her catering clientele and authoring her cookbook, Jen's mambo sauce was building its own fan base. So, in 2017, Jen along with her daughters Paige and Brooke started to manufacture their line of sauces, Sweet Mama's Mambo Sauce. The sauce is sold in Giant, Karns Foods, Superior Meat, as well as on Amazon. In addition to the catering and sauce, Jen often does live cooking segments on ABC 27, and she hosts events and cooking experiences as well as in home cooking parties.

Not an April Fools joke! We are going to open up another York County Food Bank volunteer day on April 1st. This time it will be food distribution instead of packing food boxes. Join your fellow Rotarians for a night that is sure to be filled with cheers, jeers, and the most excitement that you can have at a sporting event. The Hershey Bears have won two consecutive Clader Cups and are in a great position right now for a three-peat. Based on a February 2025 survey, Hershey Bears hockey is the best entertainment experience within 300 miles of York, PA*. Invite your kids, spouse, parents, grandchildren, a potential club member, or even a neighbor, and enjopy yourself so much that you are smiling ear to ear for the rest of the weekend. At just $26 per ticket, this event has a remarkable return on investment. I defy you to find a more exhilarating experience for a better price. The Membership Engagement Committee is looking forward to a turnout that makes us a formidabale opponent in our own right. Down with the Hartford Wolf Pack! *Survey taken in my kitchen (just one respondent) Best regards, CT |
