Mark & Val Wines - Mark and Val Wines exists to celebrate and promote black excellence and inclusion in the wine industry, and is committed to the local community by offering high-quality, small-batch wines that showcase the talents of black winemakers. As one of Pennsylvania’s first black-owned wineries, Mark and Val Wines provides customers with a welcoming space to discover and enjoy thoughtfully crafted wines through an accessible tasting room, wine club, and online shop that makes their wines available to all. Join us as they share the joys and challenges of making wine in an urban setting and take you through the journey of setting up a winery in the city; sourcing quality grapes from local farms; and producing great blends. Sample some exceptional vintages from their winery and learn more about their vision for building an inclusive wine culture that welcomes people of all backgrounds.

Youth Leadership Students of the Month, Ruth Roberts and Euri Sepulveda Bentura, from York Academy Regional Charter School, were recognized at our December 20th meeting.
MEETING TECHNICIANS NEEDED
RCY is looking for additional MEETING TECHNICIANS to provide technical audio/visual services for our weekly Club meetings at The Country Club of York. This paid contract position involves set-up of all audio/visual equipment (equipment provided), managing the audio and displaying PowerPoints and videos during meetings, and facilitating the “live stream” of meetings to Zoom participants. Hours are 10:45 am-1:45 pm, generally every other Wednesday. If you know someone with technical ability and part-time availability to work this schedule, please contact Lynne Morrison for more information.
A BILLING REMINDER
As a reminder, invoicing for your quarterly membership dues for January-February-March 2024 will be sent via email on 1/1/24. Please be on the lookout for this email. For some people, these emails may land in your spam or junk filter. Payment is due by 1/31/24 and may be paid via credit card through the email or by check mailed to our office.

Finding new members always starts with an invitation from another member like you. Consider inviting at least one person you know to a club meeting in January. SUPPORT FOR RELIEF EFFORT IN ISRAEL AND GAZA - DEADLINE IS JANUARY 15
Due to the ongoing humanitarian crisis from the conflict in Israel and Gaza, our York Rotary Foundation Board has approved a matching Disaster/Emergency Relief grant of $5,000. Donations from Club members will be matched dollar for dollar. Funds provided will be donated to the International Committee of The Red Cross (ICRC) and the Jewish Federation of North America. To learn more about the work of these two organizations, please visitICRCand Jewish Federations. If you wish to contribute to this relief effort, please visit our website andmake a donation. Indicate that your donation is for ISRAEL AND PALESTINE in the comments field. Alternatively, you may send a check made payable to the “York Rotary Foundation” to the office. Donations will be accepted through January 15th.
