ROTARY CLUB OF YORK LAUNCHES COMMUNITY GRANTS
$40,000 To Be Awarded to Community Programs in 2024
Rotary Club of York and the York Rotary Foundation have opened the 2024 round of community grants. York Rotary Grants provide valuable funding support to address the changing needs of York through grant programs focused on improving our local community. Grants of $2,500-$10,000 will be awarded to projects or programs in 2024 taking place July 1, 2024-June 31, 2025. Projects must match the grant request with other support.
The Rotary Club of York Grants Committee only accepts letters of interest that fall under one or both of these areas of focus for 2024: CULTIVATING Youth Success and IMPROVING the York City Environment.
Letters of Interest by York County based non-profit organizations can now be submitted until April 5, 2024 at 5:00pm for projects and programs that meet these focus areas. Full grant guidelines and online Letter of Interest applications can be found at https://www.yorkrotary.org/page/york-rotary-grants
Letters of Interest addressing one or both fields of interest that are selected to move to the full application stage can request $2,500-$10,000 in matching funds. All LOI applicants will be notified of their status by May 1,2024.
ON APRIL 4 ROTARIANS WILL TRANSFORM CONTINENTAL SQUARE
On Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 8am-Noon, Rotary Club of York members are invited to volunteer to help revitalize York’s Continental Square and add new beauty to York City (rain date is Friday, April 5). Continental Square was the center of the first capital of the United States and visited by John Adams, John Hancock, Samuel Adams and Marquis de Lafayette. It is a gathering point for current city residents. There are five planters in the center square. To date, the previous trees and dirt were removed in preparation for the restoration. On April 4, Rotarians will be installing new shrubs and perennials to add new beauty to the square. After the shrubs are planted, a contractor will be adding lights to give the square an evening elegance.
Please contact Joe Stein, if you would like to volunteer. If you are unable to volunteer to help with the landscaping, please stop by to celebrate and cheer on the volunteers at 9:30am on April 4.
