Who Founded York and Why?

Rotarian Frank Countess and wife Rebecca have a heightened passion for local history and spent over a year researching and visiting sites all along the East Coast to create a presentation that answers the question, “Who Founded York and Why?” Frank is a local attorney who has seemingly been enamored with York’s history since birth, and Rebecca’s interest peaked more recently during her service as the Chair of the BOD of the York County History Center. Frank and Rebecca will bring York’s story alive with a slide deck illustrating the characters and events that shaped our very formation. By the end of the presentation you will learn when the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the County of York, and the town of York were all established.
