WEEKLY MEETING - Ophelia Chambliss

Rotarian Ophelia Chambliss is an arts professional and educator who focuses her efforts on the industry of art as a career. She has an extensive background in the arts, marketing, and professional development, and has been working full time as a studio artist for more than 25 years. Her non-profit business, Ophelia's Making Agency (OMA), works with small, minority-owned, creative businesses to help them improve, grow, and innovate into viable, sustainable endeavors. OMA helps businesses identify their strengths; recognize their weaknesses and potential threats; and take advantage of their opportunities. OMA is also working to bring affordable studio spaces to the WECO district so that artists will have the space from which they can practice their craft and grow their business. These creative incubators and work spaces would raise the visibility of art as a career and add to the cultural offerings of our downtown area.
