For more than 125 years the York County History Center has collected, cared for and shared our county's history through its museums, historic structures, material culture, exhibits, programs and services. Holding a collection of more than 500,000 artifacts (more than any county historical organization in our region), and coping with $20M in deferred maintenance on 10 buildings and exhibits that had not changed in decades, Rob Kinsley and Joan Mummert, along with board members and volunteers, sought solutions to dramatically revamp the organization, fulfilling its legal obligation to hold collections and serve the public. Rob and Joan will briefly review that process and share the exciting state-of-the-art York County History Center set to open in June 2024.
